He told them another parable: “The kingdom of
heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” |
Taken with the next parable- yeast In a loaf seems to speak of the pervasive nature of the kingdom to grow from little to much. (Word of mouth and behaviour as witness.) An instance where yeast is not a symbol of evil (as some have said), but rather of the way in which the most insignificant beginning can have far reaching effects. The kingdom within affects everything I do. The kingdom expressed to others has far reaching consequences. |
Just like the truths of the Kingdom are hidden from those who are not seeking the Kingdom, the seed sewn or the yeast blended into the flour are hidden from sight, but the results are amazing.
